Top DFS Value and Starting Lineup for Week 2

Week 2 is here and for all of you die-hard fantasy football fans that play the traditional way and the daily way, here is an optimal lineup and value consideration for Week 2. We will be using the Draft Kings model starting one quarterback, two running backs, three receivers, one tight end, one flex, and one defense with a $50,000 budget.

QB: Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins – $7,100

Tua Tagovailoa went off in the first week for 466 yards and three touchdowns with an interception against the Chargers. He will get a little bit tougher of a defense this week with the Patriots, but with Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill, he should have another 20+ point performance on Sunday.

RB: Christian McCaffrey, 49ers – $8,900

Christian McCaffrey dominated the backfield for San Francisco in Week 1. He out touched Elijah Mitchell 22 to five and that should continue to be the case as long as he is healthy. He also did that without really getting much receiving work which should change in this contest, as they won’t be up by double digits.

RB: James Cook, Bills – $6,100

James Cook ran 12 times for 46 yards against a stout New York front seven. He was also able to reel in four targets for 17 yards as well. He was hands down the the first choice running back on the team and with the matchup getting easier this week, he should have even more points on the same amount of work.

WR: Jordan Addison, Vikings – $5,300

For his first week in the NFL, Jordan Addison was a highlight reel. He had four receptions for 61 yards and caught his first touchdown of his NFL career. Tonight, he will have the opportunity to outdo his first performance with one that is even better against a banged up Eagles secondary.

WR: Puka Nacua, Rams – $4,900

Puka Nacua slashed all kinds of expectations in his first game in the regular season. Nacua saw a team-high 15 targets from Matthew Stafford who loves to feed his favorite people. He ended the game with 10 receptions for 119 yards with 21.90 fantasy points without a touchdown. He will capitalize again this week with a weak San Francisco secondary.

WR: Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers – $5,300

I would have gone Christian Watson for the Packers in this spot, but with him still being a game time decision, I need to stick with someone I know will play. I doubt he doubles down on the eight receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns like he had last week, but with eight targets, he should be in for another 10+ point game.

TE: Luke Musgrave, Packers – $3,200

In order to get some of the top guys at their positions, one position had to be a deep sleeper, and Luke Musgrave is that person. He pulled in three targets for 50 yards last week against a good Chicago defense. He should see a tick of improvement with a weaker defense in Week 2.

FLEX: George Pickens, Steelers – $5,100

George Pickens did not have a game that you will write home about in Week 1. In fact, everyone from the Steelers had just a mediocre performance getting routed by the 49ers. Outside of Allen Robinson with eight, Pickens had the second-most targets on the day at seven. He brought in five of those four for 36 yards, tied with Robinson for the most receptions. With Diontae Johnson out of the picture for a while due to injury, his upside is high.

DST: New Orleans Saints – $3,300

The New Orleans Saints defense is a great play all year long with the terrible quarterbacks that they have to face. However, in this game, they are particularly good value in DFS rankings as a projected top five defense and outside the Top 10 in DK’s DFS.
