With Week 10 officially in the books, we are over halfway done with the NFL season. With playoffs just four or five weeks away for most leagues, it will go down to the wire with several players on the waiver wire with the ability to make a big impact on your team. Whether that might be getting to the playoffs or winning in the playoffs, these players should be rostered moving forward. Here are the top five waiver wire targets for this week.
Keaton Mitchell, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Keaton Mitchell’s name has been on this list multiple times over the past couple of weeks. However, it was mostly as a stash-and-wait option. Last week, he broke out with 20 fantasy points on 138 yards and a touchdown on six carries. He was on the list again to get fantasy managers to take his production seriously. This week, he doubled down and found the end zone again with 34 yards and a touchdown plus had one reception for 32 yards. Now, he is on this list as a must-roster player moving forward. He might not get the tough, goal-line carries, but he will get work.
Ty Chandler, RB, Minnesota Vikings
With the news of Cam Akers season-ending injury just a few weeks ago, Ty Chandler moved up the depth chart into backup territory. This week, Alexander Mattison went down with a concussion and Chandler was thrust into the limelight. He finished with 15 carries in a quarter and a half with 45 yards and a touchdown. Should Mattison not be able to go next week, Chandler is in for two positive matchups leading into the team’s bye week in Week 13. If he had 10.50 points in one quarter, imagine what he could do in four.
Noah Brown, WR, Houston Texans
Noah Brown came out of literally nowhere and dominated the scene in Houston over the last couple of weeks. After catching three passes in the first five weeks of the season, five passes in Weeks 6-8, he has now caught six plus passes in both of his last two games. He has also gone over 150 yards in each game and scored last week. He has put up 27 and 24 fantasy points against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cincinnati Bengals and should continue to be a must-play FLEX if Nico Collins or Tank Dell are ever injured.
Jayden Reed, WR, Green Bay Packers
Jayden Reed is probably the most rostered player on this list because his work has been steady for most of the season. He is leading the Green Bay Packers in receiving yards and is looking like Jordan Love’s favorite target. He is a player that you roster to help you get through bye weeks hoping you catch him on a boom week not a bust week. Last week, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he had five receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown for 19.40 fantasy points.
Brandin Cooks, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Brandin Cooks was a player who was drafted high and expected to take over the No. 2 spot in Dallas upon his arrival this offseason. However, he went the first five weeks of the season against great WR matchups and didn’t surpass 10 fantasy points in any of those games. Since then he has gone back and forth with games over 10 points until last week. He caught nine passes on 10 targets for 173 yards and a touchdowns, all season highs for the veteran receiver. The better Dak Prescott plays, the better those are around him.
