The Florida Panthers visit the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 5 of their best-of-seven first round playoff series on Wednesday. The Panthers were on the verge of losing Game 4 at home on Monday, but they scored twice in 11 seconds and three times in a two-minute stretch to get the 4-2 win. It was their second straight win and got them within a game of moving on to the second round. They are now looking to close out the rival Lightning in Game 5 as they continue their defense of the Stanley Cup. The Panthers got a goal by Aaron Ekblad at 16:13 in the third period to tie the game and then Seth Jones put them in the lead 11 seconds later in a shocking turn of events. Carter Verhaeghe would add an empty-netter to finish off the Lightning and give them a 3-1 series lead. It was the first goal of the series for all three players.

The Lightning will now have to find a way to get past the disappointing loss as they try to get back in the series and send it back to Sunrise for Game 6.

Mitchell Chaffee and Erik Cernak scored 11 seconds apart in the second period to give the Lightning a lead that looked like would even the series. Instead they are now needing to win three straight games to move on to the second round.

The Lightning have scored just nine goals in the first four games of the series. Jake Guentzel and Brayden Point lead the team with two goals apiece.

Nikita Kucherov leads the team with four assists. Guentzel, Ryan McDonagh and Gage Goncalves are right behind him with three assists in the first four games.
