The Avs are coming off a 2-1 loss against the Nashville Predators to split the season-series at two games apiece. The final score did not indicate how many scoring opportunities Colorado had on Saturday. The Avalanche outshot the Predators 31 to 17. Jonathan Marchessault scored halfway through the third period in what held up to be the game winner. Goalie Juuse Saros earned the first goal of the night deservedly so by stopping 31 shots. The Avalanche remain four points behind the Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars in a tightly contested Central division. The good news is that Colorado will be the 150 favorite even on the road tonight.

St. Louis is coming off a loss at home against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday in a shootout by a 4-3 final. Jordan Binnington and Connor Hellebuyck were not in net after a thrilling 4-Nations finale. The win by the Jets was their ninth in a row which is a team record. Pavel Buchnevich scored on the power play with less than three minutes left in regulation to give the Blues the 3-2 advantage but Winnipeg scored with just 32 seconds left in the game to force overtime. Kyle Connor was the only one to score in the shootout to pull off the comeback.
