The Colorado Avalanche (31-21-2) begin a five game road trip on Tuesday night up in Western Canada, where they’ll visit the Vancouver Canucks (23-18-11). The Avalanche come into this game and begin this road trip with momentum. Not only did they win both of their games at home this weekend, but they shut their opponent out in both with a 5-0 win over the St. Louis Blues on Friday and 2-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday. In total they haven’t allowed a goal in six periods of hockey.

Mackenzie Blackwood started both of those games in net for Colorado. He made a combined 43 saves to earn his second and third shutouts of the year this year. That game, also in Vancouver, saw the Canucks score once in each period in a 3-1 win. Left winger Kiefer Sherwood picked up his first career hat trick that night, scoring all three of Vancouver’s goals.
