The Colorado Avalanche try to avoid a three-game losing streak when they travel to take on the Nashville Predators. After losing the first four games of the season, Colorado turned its start around by winning five in a row. But now the Avalanche are sliding again after losing their last two games. They’ve lost the last two games to Chicago and Tampa Bay by the exact same 5-2 score. Most recently, Colorado lost to their 2022 Stanley Cup opponent in the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tampa Bay got up quick scoring the first three goals of the game before the Avs got on the board late in the first period. Nikita Kucherov scored the first goal of the game and added two assists to become the first star of the night. The game was never really close. The Avalanche are now 10 points off the Central division leader Winnipeg Jets. Fortunately for the Avs, this is only a one-game roadtrip with them returning home to faceoff against Seattle on Tuesday.

The Predators are having a very similar season as the Avalanche. Nashville opened the season with five straight losses. Then the Preds won three games in a row but now they are trying to avoid losing three in a row similarly to Colorado. The Predators are coming off a lopsided loss at home against the Edmonton Oilers. Their opponent won 5-1 with Filip Forsberg scoring their lone goal early on the power play in the first period after Viktor Arvidsson scored in just 37 seconds to open the game. Leon Draisaitl was the first star of the game scoring two goals and adding an assist. Both the Avalanche and Predators need a get-right game but it’s Nashville who will be favored at home with a -130 line.
