They struggled on defense in those first four games, as they gave up 25 combined goals, but they have been much better over the last three having given up just six combine goals. Thursday they did give up two goals to the Seattle Kraken, but got two goals from Joel Kiviranta and one by Nathan MacKinnon to come away with the 3-2 victory. Both players now have three goals on the season. Ross Colton currently is the team leader with six goals and Mikko Rantanen and Casey Mittelstadt are both next with four goals.

The Utah Hockey Club will need to find a way to slow down the potent Avalanche offense if it wants to bounce back from a 4-0 shutout loss to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.

The loss was its third in the last four games and dropped its record to 4-2-1 on the season. Utah had a great start to its first year with three straight wins, but have struggled over the last four.

Utah has already played four games that have gone to overtime this year and four of its seven games this season have had at least seven combined goals. The games have been exciting, but Utah is hoping to shore up its defense and avoid the high-scoring affairs.
