Carolina Hurricanes bring a 3-game winning streak into Thursday night’s matchup with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Carolina Hurricanes (29-16-3, 61 points) have won their last three games and return home for a single game on Thursday night before heading back out on the road. The Columbus Blue Jackets (23-18-7, 53 points) head to the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, on the second night of a road back-to-back coming off a victory on Wednesday night. The Hurricanes are second in the Metropolitan Division while the Blue Jackets are in fourth and lead the Eastern Conference wild-card race. Center Cole Sillinger didn’t play for Columbus on Wednesday with an upper-body injury while Carolina is without forwards William Carrier and Tyson Jost, both out with lower-body issues.

Adam Fantilli notched his first career hat trick to power the Blue Jackets past the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-1 on Wednesday night. Elvis Merzļikins made 28 saves in the win and Luca Del Bel Belluz finished with a goal and an assist. Kirill Marchenko tops the team with 18 goals while defenseman Zach Werenski has 15 goals and a team-high 52 points. Merzļikins is 17-11-3 in 31 starts with a 2.99 goals-against average and an .893 save percentage.
Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored both Hurricanes goals on Tuesday night in a 2-1 road win over the Dallas Stars. His second came just 24 seconds after Dallas tied the game midway through the third period. Pyotr Kochetkov made 22 saves to earn the victory in net. Jack Roslovic tops the club with 17 goals, with Martin Nečas checking in with 16 goals and leading the team with 54 points. Kochetkov is 18-9-2 in 30 starts with a 2.47 GAA and .904 save percentage.
Thursday marks the fourth and final meeting of the season between the Metropolitan division foes, with Columbus winning both of the meetings at home via shootout and Carolina getting a win on home ice on Dec. 15.
