That road trip continues across town on Monday, when the Blue Jackets take on the New York Islanders (18-20-7).

Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets will try to keep their defensive intensity up from that winning streak. During that stretch and including Saturday’s loss, they’ve allowed just 1.9 goals per game over their last seven games.

The Islanders come in with four wins in their last five games. They last played on Saturday, when they beat the San Jose Sharks 4-1. That was a strong game up the middle from the Islanders, with centers Matthew Barzal and Brock Nelson each recording a goal and an assist a piece.
