The Vegas Golden Knights have been one of the best teams in hockey this year, but last week got tripped up on a three game road trip. They return home on Monday, trying to get back in the win column against the St. Louis Blues.

Entering play on Monday, the Vegas Golden Knights (29-14-3) sit at the top of the Pacific Division standings. Bruce Cassidy’s team has been one of the best teams in the NHL over the past few months, including a stretch from December to January that saw them win 13 of 15 games. However, the Golden Knights cooled off last week when they went on a three game road trip and got swept by the Nashville Predators, Carolina Hurricanes, and Chicago Blackhawks. They’ll try to get back in the win column on Monday, when they’re back at home hosting the St. Louis Blues (22-21-4) at T-Mobile Arena.

The Blues come in having recently wrapped up a four game homestand, which saw them go 3-1-0. After that homestand they went on the road on Saturday, and lost 4-2 to the Utah Hockey Club.

Monday’s game could prove to be a tone-setter. It’s the first of two games between these two teams this week – each team’s next game is a rematch in St. Louis on Thursday.

They’ve also played once before this year, back in mid-October in Vegas. The Golden Knights won that game 4-3. Center Jack Eichel and defenseman Shea Theodore each had a goal and an assist for Vegas in that game.
