The Toronto Maple Leafs go for their third win in a row when they host the Boston Bruins on Saturday.

The season series is tied going into the third game on Saturday night between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs in this Original Six matchup. The first game was close ending in a Boston overtime win at the end of October. Toronto soon got its revenge dominating 4-0 at the beginning of November. This is a very close divisional battle between these two. The Maple Leafs lead the Atlantic division with 50 points and Boston isn’t too far behind in third with 44 points. Toronto is trying to win its third game in a row after beating the New York Islanders back-to-back in a home-and-home series.

The Maple Leafs first won 3-1 on Tuesday at home and then most recently beat the Islanders on Thursday 2-1 on the road. Bobby McMann scored the first goal of the game in the second period but the Islanders tied it right before the end of the second. For most of the third the game was deadlocked but McMann came up clutch again this time on the power play late in the third to secure the win and the first star. Goalie Joseph Woll was clutch too earning the second star with 32 saves. Toronto should be favored to win at home tonight.

Boston is also coming off a 2-1 road game against a New York team as well but this was a loss against the Rangers on Thursday. New York scored all of its goals in the first period. Boston got within a goal getting a score from Elias Lindholm in the second but that is all the offense the Bruins could muster even though they outshot the Rangers. Jonathan Quick was just too stingy in the net with 33 saves to earn the first star of the game. It doesn’t seem unreasonable to see another tight and low scoring game tonight.
