After a season-best winning streak was snapped, the Calgary Flames continue their road trip in Motown to face the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday.

Winners of two of their last three games, the Detroit Red Wings open a three-game holiday homestand on Wednesday night as they host the Calgary Flames inside Little Caesars Arena. The Flames saw their four-game winning streak end at Ottawa on Monday, ending their longest winning streak of the season, as their eastern road trip rolls into the Motor City. This is the first of two meetings between the teams this season, as Calgary looks for their first in Detroit since March 2022, losing two straight games on away ice and four in a row to the Red Wings overall.

The Red Wings rank sixth in the National Hockey League on the power play this season converting on 26.7 percent of chances with the man advantage led by center Dylan Larkin who has six goals on the power play this season. Larkin, in his 10th season with Detroit after the Red Wings selected him the first round of the 2014 NHL Draft, has scored over half of his career power play goals over the last three seasons, lighting the lamp 36 times since the start of the 2022-23 campaign.

Calgary is ninth in the NHL allowing just 2.73 goals per game holding seven of their last eight opponents to three goals or less. In his third season, 23-year-old goaltender Dustin Wolf is 8-3-1 with a 2.47 goals against average and a .921 save percentage a quarter of the way through the season.

The last three wins by Detroit in this series have all been by three or more goals, as the Red Wings have outscored the Flames 16-4 in that span.
