Vancouver Canucks look to continue road success when they visit the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday afternoon

The Vancouver Canucks (12-7-3, 27 points) are 3-1-0 on their current six-game road trip and can wrap up a winning record for the swing when they face the Detroit Red Wings (10-11-2, 22 points) at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Sunday afternoon. The Red Wings had a two-game winning streak snapped on Friday and are just 5-6-1 at home this season while the Canucks own a 9-2-0 road mark. But defenseman Filip Hronek did not play on Friday and is expected to miss time with an upper-body injury. Vancouver forward J.T. Miller is on an indefinite leave of absence for a personal matter. Detroit did not have forward Patrick Kane or goalie Alex Lyon available on Friday.

As it has most of the season, the penalty kill spelled doom for the Red Wings on Friday afternoon as they allowed three power-play goals in four opportunities in a 5-4 loss to the visiting New Jersey Devils. Detroit is a league-worst 66.15% on the penalty kill this season. Vladimir Tarasenko had a goal and an assist in the loss. Captain Dylan Larkin leads the team with 12 goals while Lucas Raymond has seven goals and 23 points. Cam Talbot is 6-5-2 in 13 starts with a .916 save percentage and 2.67 GAA.

Vancouver was a playoff team last season, reaching the second round, while the Red Wings are trying to end a postseason drought that began in 2017.
