After picking up their first road win of the season, the Buffalo Sabres return home to KeyBank Center on Tuesday night to start a four-game home stand against the Dallas Stars who have won five of their first six games. Dallas started the year on a four-game winning streak before suffering their first loss of the year at Washington on Thursday night and come into this game off a 4-1 victory over Edmonton over the weekend. The Sabres are one of only two teams in the NHL that have yet to score a power play goal and against the Stars top ranked penalty kill, that has successfully stopped 95.2% of opportunities against the man advantage, Buffalo is going to need to find a spark offensively.

Dallas is led by a trio of scorers in centers Roope Hintz and Matt Duchene alongside winger Jason Robertson who have each tallied three goals in the Stars first six games. The triumvirate combined for 74 goals last season leading the Stars to their first division title since 2016 and their third Western Conference Finals appearance in five years.

Sabres winger JJ Peterka is tied for the team lead with four goals, all coming in his last three games. The 22-year-old German was a second round selection by Buffalo in the 2020 NHL Draft and comes into this season after posting career-highs in goals, assists and points last year.

Dallas has won five of the last six games in this series overall and five of the last six games played in Buffalo including each of the last three.
