With 83 points, the Avs are just behind Dallas in the Central Division standings and could be a real threat to jump up to second down the final stretch of the regular season. Colorado is 22-10-2 on the season at home, proving to be tough to beat in front of its own crowd.

Mikko Rantanen, a former member of the Avalanche who was traded away due to contract extension disputes earlier this season, ultimately made his way to the Stars at the trade deadline. As such, both he and his former teammate will look to put forth their best effort in this matchup.

Following this contest, Dallas heads back home to host the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, Colorado will have two days off before a road contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
