With the visitors looking to keep hold of the No. 3 seed in the Metropolitan, the New Jersey Devils vist the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday afternoon. 

New Jersey comes into a weekend matchup in Pitsburgh riding a three-game winning streak to maintain the pace in the Metro playoff race. The Devils sit in third place in the division with 78 points on a 36-25-6 record and a 19-14-2 road record. Although they’ve won three games in a row, the Devils are only 5-5-0 in their last 10 games. Pittsburgh, on the other hand, has falled out of playoff contention with 64 points on a 27-31-10 record, but have also won three-straight games. This is the third of four matchups between divisional opponents, with the Devils winning the first two games 3-0 and 3-2 in a shootout.

Most recently, the Devils earned a huge 3-2 comeback victory over the Oilers in Newark on Thursday night. New Jersey scored two goals in the third period with Jesper Bratt scoring a goal and two assists to lead the way with a three-point night. Bratt tied the game in the third period with a goal at the 6:50 mark and then set up Simone Nemec’s game-winner in the closing minutes. 

As for Pittsburgh, the Penguins secured their third-straight win with a 5-3 victory over the Blues in Pittsburgh on Thursday night. Ryan Graves scoed the opening goal of the game 2:17 into the contest and the Penguins never trailed from there. Conor Timmins added the second goal for the Penguins, who are making a late-season push.
