The Anaheim Ducks come off a brutal loss on Sunday afternoon with another road game against the St. Louis Blues on Monday

The Anaheim Ducks (15-9-1, 31 points) scored two goals in the first 47 seconds on Sunday and had a 3-0 lead midway though the first period before collapsing in a brutal road loss. The Ducks have little time to recover as they are back at it on Monday night when they visit the St. Louis Blues (9-10-7, 25 points) at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. The Blues come in with back-to-back wins as they look to close out a perfect homestand before embarking on a three-game road trip.

Cutter Gauthier and Olen Zellweger scored two goals in 32 seconds to give Anaheim a 2-0 lead 47 seconds into its game at the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday and led 3-0 when Chris Kreider lit the lamp at the 10:25 mark of the first period. From there, the Blackhawks scored five unanswered goals to take a 5-3 win. Petr Mrázek allowed three goals on 16 shots before leaving with an injury in the third period. The Ducks are already without No. 1 goalie Lukáš Dostál, out two to three weeks with an upper body injury.

Dylan Holloway scored the only goal of the game late in the second period and St. Louis beat the visiting Utah Mammoth 1-0 on Saturday night as Joel Hofer stopped 18 shots for his second shutout of the season. Philip Broberg and Robert Thomas had assists on the Holloway goal, which came at 18:05 of the second.

Holloway’s goal tied him with Jordan Kyrou for Blues’ team lead with seven while Thomas leads the team with 16 points. Justin Faulk, Pius Suter and Jake Neighbours have six goals each and Jordan Binnington is 6-5-5 in 17 starts with an .882 save percentage and 3.11 goals-against average. Gauthier leads Anaheim with 15 goals while Leo Carlsson has 13 and a team-high 34 points. If Mrázek can’t go Monday, goaltending duty falls to Ville Husso, who started in Friday’s shootout win over the Los Angeles Kings and allowed a goal on the only shot he faced on Sunday. He has surrendered five goals on 28 shots, an .821 save percentage to go with a 4.05 GAA.
