Bennett Sennecke beat the horn with an unassisted shorthanded goal with a second remaining in regulation and Leo Carlsson had the lone successful attempt in the shootout as the Ducks beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 on Tuesday night. Sennecke added an assist while Ville Husso made 44 saves to pick up the win. Jackson LaCombe and Troy Terry lit the lamp in the second period to give the Ducks a 2-1 lead before the Penguins came back to take the lead with 3:55 left in the third period.

New York recovered from surrendering the game-tying goal with 14 seconds to go in regulation on Tuesday night, with Emil Heineman scoring in the fourth round of the shootout to lift the Islanders to a 5-4 victory over the visiting Vegas Golden Knights. Bo Horvat scored a pair of goals, Ilya Sorokin stopped 32 shots and Marc Gatcomb and Simon Holmstrom also netted goals in the win.

Carlsson and Cutter Gauthier lead Anaheim with 16 goals each, with Carlsson topping the squad with 38 points. With top two goalies Lukáš Dostál and Petr Mrázek both out with injuries, Husso has stepped up to go 5-2-0 in seven appearances and six starts, posting an .893 save percentage and 2.83 goals-against average. Horvat leads the Islanders with 19 goals and 31 points while Heineman checks in with 10 goals so far. Sorokin, recovering from a poor start to the season, is 11-8-2 in 21 starts with three shutouts, a .910 save percentage and 2.53 GAA.
