The Carolina Hurricanes (8-2-0, 16 points) ride a six-game winning streak as they host the Philadelphia Flyers (4-7-1, 9 points) in a matchup of Metropolitan Division rivals on Tuesday night at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Flyers had their two-game winning run ended on Saturday after goalie Samuel Ersson went down with a lower-body injury. Philadelphia last made the postseason in 2020 and come off a 38-33-11 season in 2023-24. The Hurricanes finished 52-23-7 last season, losing to the New York Rangers in the second round of the playoffs.

Dmitry Orlov scored two goals and Martin Nečas added a goal and a pair of assists to lift Carolina past the visiting Washington Capitals 4-2 on Sunday. Pyotr Kochetkov needed just 19 saves to get the win as the ‘Canes outshot the Caps 45-21. Nečas and Jake Roslovic lead the team with six goals each and Nečas has a team-high 18 points. In six starts Kochetkov is 5-1-0 with an .893 save percentage and 2.51 goals-against average.

The Flyers were blanked 3-0 on Saturday by the visiting Boston Bruins. Winger Bobby Brink was named the game’s third star after delivering a pair of hits and taking five shots, two which got on net. Travis Konecny leads the club with five goals and 10 points. Ersson left Saturday after just 7:36 after making eight saves.

Ersson is listed as day-to-day while Philadelphia defenseman Cam York is on injured reserve with an upper-body issue. Hurricanes goalie Frederik Andersen is week-to-week after sustaining a lower-body injury last week.
