Lukas Dostal was on his A-game making 35 saves as the Hurricanes outshot the Ducks 37-20. It will be Carolina that is the big favorite tonight even on the road as the Hurricanes will have the -210 line.

Carolina was flying in high into Southern California on Saturday riding an eight-game winning streak. The Hurricanes were quickly sobered though losing to the Los Angeles Kings 7-2. Carolina still lost big despite outshooting the Kings 36-25. The Hurricanes didn’t score until three-quarters of the way through the second period with a goal by Dmitry Orlov. LA had already scored six goals by then. Mark Jankowski scored the other goal for Carolina but it came with less than two minutes left in regulation. The Kings swept the season series 2-0 with the win. It may be helpful that Carolina is playing on back-to-back nights as it can move on quickly.

Anaheim is coming off a 4-1 win against the Nashville Predators on Thursday to avoid a three-game losing streak. It was a nice bounce back win for the Ducks after dropping to the Dallas Stars on the road in overtime. Trevor Zegras scored a goal and added an assist to celebrate his 24th birthday. John Gibson was strong in net making 33 saves and earning the first star of the game. Anaheim swept the season series 3-0 with the win. They’ll need that same kind of play in net to pull of this upset against Carolina.
