Both the Carolina Hurricanes and Vegas Golden Knights both try to bounce back from close losses when they face-off on Monday.

The Carolina Hurricanes are coming off just their third loss of the season when they take on the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday night. The Hurricanes had an eight-game win streak until they headed to Denver and lost to the Colorado Avalanche 6-4 on Saturday. Things started off great for Carolina, scoring the first two goals of the game from Jack Drury and Jordan Martinook. The Avalanche scored five goals in the second period to ruin that party. Carolina still went up 3-2 in the middle of the period with Martin Necas scoring on the power play. But the Avalanche kept coming, scoring three unanswered goals the rest of the period. Martinook scored again at the beginning of the period to bring Carolina within one, but the Hurricanes couldn’t muster any more scoring with the Avalanche capping off the game with an empty-net goal from Mikko Rantanen. Martinook finished the night as the third star though with two goals and he added an assist.

Vegas is on a three-game points streak, but it lost its last game against the Seattle Kraken 4-3 in overtime on Friday. The Golden Knights scored the first two goals of the game, but the Kraken came roaring back scoring three in a row. Alex Pietrangelo made sure Vegas would at least get a point by scoring the game-tying goal with less than two minutes left to play.

But Jared McCann made sure Seattle had the last laugh, scoring the overtime winner just 29 seconds into the extra period. Who will bounce back first and get lucky in Vegas tonight?
