Metropolitan Division rivals clash Sunday as the Carolina Hurricanes visit the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden

The New York Rangers (16-15-1, 33 points) stopped a three-game losing streak on Friday night to close a three-game road trip and return home Sunday afternoon to host their Metropolitan Division rival, the Carolina Hurricanes (20-11-1, 41 points) at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers may not have forward Matt Rempe, who has a meeting scheduled with the NHL’s department of player safety after he received a game misconduct for elbowing Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen in Friday night’s win. The hearing means Rempe is facing a suspension of at least six games as a repeat offender.
