The Blackhawks already got the best of the Kings once this year. It look them scoring in the final 30 seconds of the game to force overtime, but they came away with a 4-3 shootout win despite two goals from Kings right winger Alex Laferriere. Los Angeles also dominated in some other areas, winning 65.5% of the faceoffs in the game and out-shooting the Blackhawks 40-21.

Last time out, the Blackhawks were able to pick up a win and stop a five-game losing streak of their own. They were on the road taking on the Anaheim Ducks, and won 6-3. Center Ryan Donato had two goals and an assist in that game, with both goals coming in the third period to help the Blackhawks pull away.
