Sam Reinhart scored the first and last goals of the game for the Panthers and A.J Greer and Eetu Luostarinen both scored shorthanded goals in the second period to help Florida get the win. The win pushed the Panthers record to 22-11-2 on the season and has them in first place in the Atlantic Division. They are two points up on the second place Toronto Maple Leafs and are now eight points up on the Lightning who sit in fourth place in the division. Monday’s game is the first of five straight at home for the Panthers and they are hoping it can help them stay hot as they continue to battle the Maple Leafs for the top spot in the division.

The Lightning, though, are looking to avenge the loss from Sunday and snap the Panthers winning streak.

The loss to the Panthers on Sunday snapped a four-game winning streak for the Lightning and dropped them to 18-11-2 on the season. It was their longest winning streak of the year.

The Lightning will get three days off after their game on Monday before they play two straight at home against the New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens.

They need to keep winning as they are currently tied with the Ottawa Senators for the last wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
