The Lightning lost their second straight game on Saturday night, gaining a point in a 3-2 shootout loss to the host Buffalo Sabres. Tampa Bay, which was outshot 38-24, surrendered the lead 5:07 into the third period after getting second-period goals from Brayden Point and Gage Goncalves. It remains two points ahead of the Florida Panthers and four up on the Ottawa Senators in the Atlantic.

The Rangers were blanked across the river on Saturday afternoon, taking a 4-0 loss at New Jersey in Newark. Kucherov’s 112 points leads the club and Andrei Vasilevskiy is 36-20-3 in net with a 2.16 goals-against average and .921 save percentage. Artemi Panarin tops New York with 34 goals and 82 points, with Igor Shesterkin at 25-27-5 with a 2.86 GAA and .904 save percentage.
