The Dallas Stars continue their four-game homestand on Thursday night when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Stars won the first game of the homestand on Tuesday night when it took down the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 in overtime. The win was their second straight game that went to overtime, but they lost the previous one 4-3 on the road against the Colorado Avalanche. With the win on Tuesday, the Stars now sit at 43-21-3 on the season and it has them in second place in the Central Division. They currently sit with 89 points, which is nine back of the Winnipeg Jets and four points up on the Avalanche. They are also eight points up on the Minnesota Wild for the last guaranteed playoff spot in the division. The Stars will also play the Philadelphia Flyers and Wild on their homestand, but first want to get a win on Thursday night.

The Lightning, though, aren’t going to make it easy as they try and win a third straight game on Thursday.
The Lightning snapped a three-game losing streak on Saturday when they beat the Boston Bruins 6-2 and then shut out the Flyers 2-0 on Monday to push their record to 39-23-5 on the season.
They now sit in a second place tie with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Atlantic Division. The two teams have 83 points, which is two back of the Florida Panthers for first place.
Thursday’s game is the first of three straight on the road for the Lightning. They will also play the Utah Hockey Club and Vegas Golden Knights before they head home for three straight.
