After their five-game winning streak was snapped, the LA Kings continue their northern road trip against the red-hot Edmonton Oilers in a Pacific Division tilt on Monday.

Winners of 13 of their last 17 games, the Edmonton Oilers return to Rogers Place on Monday night for the first time in 10 days as they face-off against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday. It is the second of four meetings between the division foes this season. The Kings saw their five-game winning streak end in Calgary on Saturday for their first loss of the new year, as their five-game road trip rolls into Alberta. The Kings lead the NHL in defense, allowing just 2.45 goals per game, having held four consecutive opponents to two goals or less, including a shutout win over New Jersey on New Year’s Day.

The Oilers tandem of centers Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have combined for 121 points this season, led by Draisaitl’s league-leading 31 goals and McDavid’s 42 assists, which ranks fourth in the NHL. Draisaitl, the third overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, has collected at least a point in 16 of his last 17 games, 11 multi-point games in that span. With two goals in Thursday’s loss at Pittsburgh, Draisaitl secured his seventh consecutive 30-goal season and is on pace to shatter his career high of 55 goals set during the 2021-22 campaign.

Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper is 12-2-5 in his first 19 starts this season, ranking third in the NHL with a .921 save percentage and 2.16 goals against average, both career highs. Kuemper tallied 24 saves in a 4-3 win over Edmonton in their lone meeting this season back in late December.

The Oilers have dominated this series of late, winning 12 of the last 17 meetings, including knocking Los Angeles out of the playoffs in five games in April.
