Then, the 2024 Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers hosted the Washington Capitals at Amerant Bank Arena. Niko Mikkola scored the Panthers’ lone goal in the 4-1 loss at home, while Lars Eller, Jakob Chychrun and Ivan Miroshnichenko all got on the scoresheet for the Capitals.

In other action around the league, the Carolina Hurricanes and the Dallas Stars met at PNC Arena on Monday night. The hosts were down 4-1 in the third quarter, but put away five unanswered goals to win the match 6-4.

Sebastian Aho, Seth Jarvis, Shayne Gostisbehere, Martin Necas, Brent Burns and Andrei Svechnikov all found the back of the net for Carolina in the win at home.

Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Lightning put eight past the Colorado Avalanche in an 8-2 victory at Amalie Arena. Jake Guentzel notched a brace for the team from Central Florida, to go along with goals from Nikita Kucherov, Nick Perbix, Anthony Cirelli, Michael Eyssimont, Luke Glendening and Brayden Point.
