Minnesota’s leading scorer Kirill Kaprizov has been sidelined since Jan. 23 following surgery for a lower-body injury forcing the scoring responsibilities to fall to winger Matt Boldy who has 20 goals in 56 games this season. Boldy, in his fourth NHL season, is five goals away from 100 for his career and comes into this game off the overtime loss to Canada in the 4 Nations Face-off on Thursday. The 23-year-old Massachusetts native scored one goal snd assisted on two others during the four-game event.

The Red Wings top line of center Dylan Larkin and winger Lucas Raymond, opponents during the 4 Nations Face-Off, have combined for 44 goals and 65 assists this season with Raymond tallying seven points in his last five games.

The home team has won five of the last six meetings in this series including each of the last four with four of the last six games being decided by three or more goals.

This is the first meeting of the season between the clubs who will wrap the season series in Minneapolis on Tuesday night.
