The Minnesota Wild are in search of their fifth straight road win when they face-off against the Vegas Golden Knights in a battle of Western Conference leaders.

On a two-game home losing streak, the Vegas Golden Knights look to salvage the weekend homestand on Sunday night as they welcome the Minnesota Wild into the T-Mobile Arena for the second of three meetings between the Western Conference rivals. The Wild posted a dominant 3-1 win at San Jose on Saturday for their seventh victory in nine games, as they look to leapfrog the Pacific Division-leading Golden Knights in the Western Conference standings and pull to within one point of Central Division leading Winnipeg. This is the second of three meetings between the teams this season and the Wild’s only trip to Vegas this season.

Led by veteran center Jack Eichel, the Vegas offense ranks fourth in the NHL, scoring 3.40 goals per game and is seventh on the power play converting on 25.0 percent of chances with the man advantage. Eichel has 43 assists, third most in the league, and comes into this game with at least a point in 10 of his last 13 games. The 28-year-old Eichel is on pace to obliterate his career high of 82 points set with Buffalo during the 2018-19 campaign and is six points away from his sixth career 60-point season.

Minnesota is seventh in the league, allowing just 2.70 goals per game, led by goaltender Filip Gustavsson, who is 18-7-3 with a 2.44 goals against average, a .918 save percentage, and three shutouts on the season. In his third season with the Wild, Gustavsson has 60 wins and is two victories away from his third straight 20-win season.

The Golden Knights have dominated this series at home, winning five of the last six over Minnesota with four of the five wins coming by two or more goals.
