With four losses in their last five games, the New Jersey Devils begin a three-game road trip on Wednesday night in hopes of building momentum heading into the postseason as they look for the season sweep against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks snapped a seven-game losing streak with a win over Philadelphia on Sunday and now face a gauntlet of playoff hopefuls, as each of their next five games are against teams currently in the hunt for the postseason. New Jersey has dominated this series, winning seven of the last eight meetings overall, including five in a row, and three of the last four inside the United Center.

Devils winger Jasper Bratt ranks sixth in the National Hockey League with 62 assists and leads the team with 82 points this season. Bratt, a sixth round steal in the 2016 NHL Draft, is two points shy of breaking his career-high point total set last season and is now just eight points away from 300 for his career. The 26-year-old Sweden native has 12 points in his last seven games with three multi-point games in that span.
In his second season in the NHL, the 2023-24 Rookie of the Year Connor Bedard again leads the Blackhawks in points after posting a goal and an assist in Sunday’s 7-4 home win over the Flyers. Bedard is five points away from equaling his output from his rookie campaign and has already established career highs this season with nine power play goals and five game winning goals.
New Jersey ranks fourth in the NHL on the power play, converting on 27.4 percent of chances with the man advantage, having posted four power play goals in its last five games.
