The Oilers last game was played at home on Friday, Feb. 7 in a 5-4 loss against the Colorado Avalanche that denied them winning three games in a row. Edmonton was down 4-2 after a early second-period goal by Colorado who was shorthanded. Corey Perry got the Oilers within one on the power play just a minute later. Leon Draisaitl scored the game-tying goal with four minutes left in the period for his second goal of the game to earn him the third star of the night. The game was pretty quiet in the third period until new Avalanche Martin Necas, who came over from Carolina in the trade with Mikko Rantanen, scored what turned out to be the game-winner with just a bit more than four minutes left in regulation. The Oilers just missed pulling off the impressive comeback.

The Flyers have a bit of momentum tonight after getting a 3-2 win against their in-state rival in the Pittsburgh Penguins before the break. The win ended a five-game losing streak for Philadelphia. The Flyers will take on the Penguins again come Tuesday. Travis Konecny scored what turned out to be the game-winner early in the third to go up 3-1. Pittsburgh scored again about a minute later but it could never muster enough to tie the game. Edmonton will still be the favorite tonight even though it is the visitors. The Oilers will have the -195 line in their favor in this welcome-back matchup.
