How to Watch Oilers at Kings Game 1: Stream NHL Live, TV Channel

The LA Kings host the Edmonton Oilers in the first game of this series on Monday, which is the fourth year in a row they’ll face off in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Only four points separated these Pacific division rivals in the regular season. Expect another close series between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings. LA won the regular season series 3-1. After the first two games of the season series were decided by one goal and the series was tied, the Kings shutout the Oilers in back-to-back games to win the season series. They won those two games in April by a combined score of 8-0. Playing each other often in the regular season has extended to the playoffs for these rivals. The Kings have faced off against the Oilers in the past three seasons. LA has lost all three of those series as the Kings try to shift the narrative in 2025. Edmonton won in seven games in 2022, six games in 2023, and four games in 2024. The Kings will at least be favored in the opening game of this series tonight with a -125 line in their corner.

The Oilers have all the determination they need to win this series after losing last year’s Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers in Game 7 by one goal. Los Angeles has a very different initial objective in these playoffs. The Kings haven’t won a playoff series since 2014 when they won the Stanley Cup.

It will help that this is the first time in the four years that Edmonton and LA have played one another in the playoffs, that the Kings will have home ice advantage. Los Angeles is electric at home with a 31-6-4 record and the Kings have won 17 of their 22 games since the trade deadline. If the Kings have any year to turn the corner, its this one. Good luck telling that to Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
