The Florida Panthers and New York Rangers play for the first time since the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday.

The 2024 Eastern Conference rematch is officially on when the New York Rangers host the Florida Panthers on Thursday night. The Panthers would of course go on to win the conference finals round and ultimately go on to win their first championship in franchise history. But it is New York who has shot out of a cannon this season with the Rangers already looking like they are on a mission. New York has not lost in regulation to start the season and have only lost to the upstart Utah Hockey Club in overtime. The Rangers are now 5-0-1 after coming off a huge 7-2 win on the road beating the Montreal Canadiens. New York jumped out to a quick lead securing the game early scoring four goals in the first 11 minutes. The Rangers outshot the Canadiens 45-23 with Filip Chytil easily standing out by scoring two goals and adding an assist to earn the first star. Now the Rangers will head back home after a three-game road trip. New York will host Anaheim before it heads back out on the road to take on Washington who is only three points behind the Rangers for the division lead.
