The Flyers are currently in last place in the Metropolitan standings with 54 points, holding a record of 23-26-7. The team’s most recent game was played against the Washington Capitals and resulted in a tough 4-3 loss on the road. The Flyers got on the board with less than a minute remaining in the first period with a goal from Matvei Michkov, but the Caps came right back to tie it up before the period ended.

Washington took the lead just a few minutes into the second and Tyson Foerster scored the equalizer for the Flyers with 12 left to play in the period. Michkov struck again before the end of the second, but that’s where the scoring ended for the team. The Capitals snuck one more by Ivan Fedotov to win the game.

As league rivals, Saturday night’s game is bound to be a battle. The last time the teams met was back in December and resulted in a 7-3 win for the Penguins.
