The Pittsburgh Penguins try to end a three-game losing streak going on the road to take on the Carolina Hurricanes Sunday night.

The Carolina Hurricanes look to take a commanding 3-0 season series lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday. Carolina will be the big favorite to do so at home with a -225 line in favor of the Hurricanes. The Penguins are also trying to avoid losing three in a row tonight. But Carolina is coming off a 4-0 shutout against the Minnesota Wild where they came out very flat at home. The Hurricanes only had 21 shots with goalie Filip Gustavsson earning his third shutout of the season. Marco Rossi assisted on each goal and Matt Boldy had a goal and two assists in this game that was never really close.

Carolina only had one shot in the first 12 minutes of the game that really summed up the entire evening. Making matters worse, there was a four-minute penalty in that span. Carolina had a goal called back in the second period that might have changed things but it is abundantly clear that this team needs to create many more chances against Pittsburgh if the Hurricanes are going to bounce back quickly.

Pittsburgh is coming off a tough loss against the defending champ Florida Panthers on Friday 3-2 in a shootout. No Penguins scored in the shootout frame but Sam Reinhart and Anton Lundell both scored for Florida to take home the two points. Sidney Crosby scored his 11th of the season to tie the game at one on the power play at the end of the second period. Down 2-1, Rickard Rakell tied the game for the Penguins with just 40 seconds left in regulation. Pittsburgh will likely need to get off a quicker start tonight if it is to pull off this road upset.
