The struggling Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night at KeyBank Center

The Pittsburgh Penguins (18-20-8, 44 points) open a seven-game road trip on Friday night in the midst of a rough stretch that has seen them lose three straight games and seven of their last eight. The excursion opens Friday night against the Buffalo Sabres (17-22-5, 39 points), who have won three of four but still have the fewest points in the Eastern Conference. The Penguins made a stunning move on Wednesday, placing starting goalie Tristan Jarry on waivers. Pittsburgh has allowed an NHL-worst 169 goals this season and Jarry surrendered a pair of soft goals in a loss to the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday.
