Ovechkin, in his 20^th season with Washington, needs eight goals to pass Wayne Gretzky for the all-time goal scoring title and has brutalized the Flyers during his tenure scoring 51 goals in 77 games against Philadelphia in his career. Despite missing over a month with a broken bone in his leg, Ovechkin has a team leading 34 goals this season, tied for fifth most in the league, and has posted four goals in his last 10 games.

Flyers winger Travis Konecny leads the team with 65 points this season and is now four points shy of surpassing his career high of 68 points set last season. The 28-year-old Ontario native, who has spent his entire nine-year career with Philadelphia, is four goals away from 200 after posting back-to-back 30 goal campaigns.

Washington has won five games in a row in this series and with a win on Thursday would complete their second season sweep of the Flyers since the 2018-19 season.
