Penguins look for third straight win as they open road trip against division rival Islanders

In search of a season best three-game winning streak, the Pittsburgh Penguins open a three-game eastern road swing on Tuesday night as they visit the New York Islanders dropping the puck on the first of four games between the Metropolitan Division foes this season. The Islanders have lost four of their last five games and have lost three in a row at home inside UBS Arena while the Penguins have won two games in a row after a season worst six-game losing streak. Penguins center Evgeni Malkin leads the team with 14 points, including a team high 11 assists, despite being held without a point in seven of his last eight games. Malkin, who has spent all of his 19 seasons in the NHL with the Penguins, collected his 500th career goal earlier this season becoming the fourth Penguin ever to tally 500 goals and 800 assists in a career.

Ilya Sorokin has the leagues seventh best goals against average at 2.29 goals per game but has allowed seven goals in two November starts for the Islanders after allowing just nine goals in the first five games this season.
