Philadelphia won comfortably despite New Jersey holding a 10-point advantage in the Metropolitan division. Things started off well for the Devils scoring the first goal of the game just 2:17 into regulation but they couldn’t score the rest of the way. Philadelphia won despite notching just 18 shots. That was because New Jersey could only muster 13 all night. Matvei Michkov tied the game early in the second and then Bobby Brink scored what proved to be the game winner midway through the third on the power play. The win was nice but they’ll need many more scoring opportunities tonight to fend of the Red Wings.

The Red Wings are coming off a 4-1 loss against the Dallas Stars on Sunday despite outshooting their opponent 34-25. The Stars just started too fast to come back from with Dallas scoring three goals in the first. Detroit didn’t score until midway through the third period. Dallas didn’t look phased just scoring two minutes latter to put the icing on the cake. Look for Detroit to come out earlier with a lot more energy.
