Oilers leading scorer Leon Draisaitl returned to the lineup after missing a week of action last month due to a lower body injury scoring three goals and assisting on two others since his return. Draisaitl, the third overall selection in the 2014 NHL Draft, leads the league in goals this season with 52 and is third in the league with 106 points marking the fourth time the 29-year-old has eclipsed the 50-goal and 100-point threshold. Just one goal shy of 400 for his career, Draisaitl has scored 13 time against the Sharks including the game winner in overtime in their first meeting this season back in mid-December.

Sharks rookie Macklin Celebrini collected his first career hat trick in an 8-7 loss at Minnesota on Wednesday pushing his goal total to 24 this season, second on the team behind veteran center Tyler Toffoli’s 29 goals.

San Jose ranks last in the NHL allowing 3.79 goals per game but has held the Oilers to just three goals in each of their first two meetings this season.

These teams wrap up the regular season in San Jose on Wednesday night marking their third meeting in a 16-day span.
