After their season-longest three-game winning streak was snapped in Tampa on Thursday, the San Jose Sharks continue on their six-game Eastern Conference road trip on Saturday evening as they take on the Florida Panthers who lead the Atlantic Division who have regained their form after a four-game losing streak by winning four of their last five games. The Panthers rank third in the National Hockey League scoring 3.78 goals per game paced by their third ranked power play unit that is converting on 28.4% of chances with the man advantage having scored eight goals on the power play in their last three games.

The league’s leading goal scorer Sam Reinhart added his 19^th goal of the season in Thursdays win at Philadelphia marking his third goal in the last four games. The Panthers center tallied a career-high 57 goals a year ago and is on pace for his second consecutive 50-goal season. Reinhart was the second overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft spending seven seasons with Buffalo before joining the Panthers prior to the 2021-22 campaign.

The Sharks have struggled on defense this season allowing 3.48 goals per game, 28^th best in the league. San Jose has conceded four or more goals seven times in their last 11 games including a season high eight goals in the loss at Tampa two nights ago.

Florida has dominated this series winning 12 of the last 13 games dating back to February of 2017 including each of the last 10. San Jose has lost five straight trips to Sunrise last winning in December of 2017 having been outscored 23-9 in that span.
