A day after allowing four third period goals to secure a third consecutive loss, the San Jose Sharks conclude their five-game road trip on Tuesday night inside Bridgestone Arena as they face off against the Nashville Predators for the first of three meetings this season between the Western Conference foes and the first of two meetings in three days as the sides will travel to California to play again on Thursday. Nashville has won three games in a row and have won five of their last seven with each of the last three victories coming on home ice where they are 5-1 since the week of Christmas.

In his first season with Nashville, Predators center Steven Stamkos has a team-high 16 goals this season with four goals coming in his last three games. Stamkos, the number one overall selection in the 2008 NHL Draft, signed a four-year deal with the Preds after spending his first 16 seasons in the league with the Tampa Bay Lightning winning the Stanley Cup twice. Off three consecutive 40-plus assist seasons, Stamkos enters this game four assists away from 600 for his career.

Sharks rookie Macklin Celebrini has 13 goals in his first 37 games and is third on the team with 32 points so far this season. The top pick in the 2024 Draft, Celebrini has four points in his last five games but has been held without a goal in seven consecutive contests.

Nashville has won 12 of the last 13 games in this series including each of the last 10 meetings. San Jose has not beaten the Predators since November of 2019 and has not won in Nashville since October of 2018, a span of seven consecutive trips to the Tennessee capital without a victory.
