Thursday’s game will actually be the third meeting of the year between the Senators and Lightning. They first played back in mid-October in Ottawa. Right winger Drake Batherson dominated that game for Ottawa, scoring two goals and an assist as the Senators came away with a 5-4 victory. The Senators set the tone in that game, out-hitting Tampa Bay two to one with 30 hits to Tampa’s 15.

The Lightning’s win over the Senators on Tuesday snapped a five game winning streak. That includes a 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators on Monday, which began a four game road trip and was the first half of a back to back with Tuesday’s game.

Meanwhile, the Lightning have won two of their last three games with points in all three. They’ve played four games of a five game homestand, going 2-1-1 so far.
