The Toronto Maple Leafs go for their sixth win in a row as they play the second half of a back-to-back on Monday night, hosting the San Jose Sharks.

Coming out of the NHL’s break for the Four Nations Face-Off tournament, the Toronto Maple Leafs (38-20-2) have been rolling. Craig Berube’s team has won five games in a row, including sweeping a four game road trip. With this stretch, which going back further has seen the Maple Leafs win eight of their last nine games, Toronto has climbed into first place in the Atlantic Division. They’ll try to keep the momentum going Monday night as Scotiabank Arena when they host the San Jose Sharks (15-37-9) in an interconference matchup.

This time out, the Leafs will be playing on the second night of a road-home back-to-back. They played last night, visiting the Pittsburgh Penguins to wrap up a four-game road trip. The Penguins took the Maple Leafs to overtime, before William Nylander delivered a game winner.

That was the latest example of Toronto lighting up the scoreboard. The Maple Leafs are averaging five goals per game over their five game winning streak, and are now averaging 3.19 goals per game this season.

The Sharks have played four games since the break, going to overtime twice. They’re 0-2-2 in those games. Last time out on Saturday, the Sharks lost 5-3 to the Ottawa Senators.

Puck drop for this one is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday. Catch the game on NBC Sports Bay Area Plus.
