The San Jose Sharks continue their seven-game road trip on Saturday night when they visit the Ottawa Senators. They have won just two games since Jan. 7 as they have struggled to stop teams. Their road trip will also see them visit the Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres and Colorado Avalanche before they return home for eight straight. Mikael Granlund is the team’s leader in points with 45 and is tied with William Eklund for the most assists with 30. Tyler Toffoli is the team’s top goal scorer with 21.

The Senators also come into Saturday on a slide as they have dropped five straight games to fall to 29-25-4 on the season.

They had been playing well before this losing streak as they had won 10 of 13. The slump has dropped them out of a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.

They are now tied with the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins with 62 points. The three teams are four points back of both the Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Senators will hit the road for two games against the Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks starting on Monday, but first need to get a home win to keep pace in the wild card race.
