The Dallas Stars host the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night looking to avoid a second straight loss. The Stars had won three in a row in dominant fashion, but came up short on Monday in a 4-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. The Stars now sit at 11-6-0 on the season and in third place in the Central Division. They are three points back of the Minnesota Wild and two points up on the Colorado Avalanche in the standings. They have lost two in a row just once this season when they went to Finland and dropped back-to-back games to the Florida Panthers. They will look to avoid the same fate on Tuesday against a Sharks team they have already beat once this year. The Stars struggled against the Sharks in the first matchup, but were able to escape with a 3-2 shootout victory. The Stars never led in regulation, but got goals from Matt Duchene and Roope Hintz in the second period.

The win over the Red Wings snapped a three-game losing streak and improved their record to 6-10-4 on the season.

The Sharks have been playing better, though, as they have won six of their last 11 games after losing their first nine games of the season.
