Connor Bedard‘s sophomore season is almost underway. His Chicago Blackhawks have one more preseason game first, against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
Center Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks (0-4-1) have just one tune-up game left before the 2023 first overall pick begins his sophomore season. Bedard and the Blackhawks will be on the road on Saturday night, visiting the St. Louis Blues (2-4-0) at the Enterprise Center. It’s their final game of the preseason for the Blackhawks before they open the 2024-2025 regular season on the road, as the first ever opponent (and first ever visitor) for the new Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday night.

Saturday’s game is the second half of a back-to-back for the Blackhawks, who lost 6-1 to the Wild on Friday night. Defenseman Seth Jones scored the lone goal for Chicago in that one, picking up an assist from Bedard. In four games this preseason Bedard has five points with a goal and four assists.
The Blues last played on Thursday, when they beat the Dallas Stars 4-3. Winger Kasperi Kapanen and defenseman Philip Broberg each had a goal and an assist in that one. Center Robert Thomas also picked up two points with two assists in the game.
Saturday night’s matchup is also the final preseason game of the year for the Blues. They open their regular season on Tuesday on the road against the Seattle Kraken, in the first game of a three-game West Coast road trip.
