The NHL is back from a thrilling break, as the New Jersey Devils host the Dallas Stars on Saturday night. Watch free on Fubo.

Hockey has been very, very great to us even when the NHL went on break. Fresh off a brilliant match in the 4 Nations Face-Off – Championship, the league is back for an action-packed Saturday with 14 games. The New Jersey Devils spring back into action when they host the Dallas Stars. This is the first game of the season between these rivals who faced off in the 2000 Stanley Cup Finals. The Stars are second in the Central division but are still well behind Winnipeg while the Devils are in third Metropolitan with Washington running away with that division. The betting odds are about as even as can be but the Stars will have a slight edge with a -115 line in their favor. Consider this one to be a coin flip though.

New Jersey is coming off a dominating 4-0 win two weeks ago beating the Montreal Canadiens on the road. Jack Hughes was the first star of the game with a goal and an assist. Jake Allen deserves a huge portion of the credit stopping all 34 shots especially since the Canadiens outshot the Devils 34-22. It was an even bigger night for Allen considering he was traded at the deadline last season from Montreal to New Jersey. It was the second time in two weeks Allen beat the Canadiens stopping 29 shots in New Jersey’s previous win in overtime at the end of January.

Allen will have his work cut out for him if the Stars’ last game is any indication. Dallas is coming off a huge 8-3 win over the San Jose Sharks. Matt Duchene was the first star with two goals and an assist in the blowout. The Stars actually got off to a slow start getting down 2-0 in the first three minutes of the game. But that must have lit a fire as Dallas scored seven straight goals before San Jose scored again. Expect this game against New Jersey to be drastically closer.
