Division leading Maple Leafs look to tie season-longest winning streak, even season series as the Sunshine State double-dip begins against the Panthers

On a season longest five-game losing streak, the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers trail the Toronto Maple Leafs by six points heading into Tuesday night’s Atlantic Division showdown as the Leafs aim for their third five-game winning streak of the season. Toronto has allowed just five goals over their last four games including a 3-2 home win over the Panthers on Wednesday for their first win against Florida since April of 2024. The Panthers have won four of the last five meetings inside Amerant Bank Arena with each of the last three victories coming by two or more goals.

Maple Leafs winger Mitch Marner ranks in the top five in the National Hockey League in both assists and points and is now six points shy of his first career 100-point season after tallying 97 points in 2021-22 and a career high 99 points during the 2022-23 campaign. Marner, the fourth overall selection in the 2015 NHL Draft, has posted a career high 70 assists this season surpassing 500 in his career earlier this season. The 27-year-old Ontario native is riding a seven-game points streak scoring a goal and assisting on another in Toronto’s 3-2 win over Florida last week.

With 37 goals this season, Panthers center Sam Reinhart has posted his fourth-straight 30-goal campaign as he closes in on 300 career goals. In his fourth season with Florida, Reinhart has tallied 321 points including a career high 94 during the Panthers Cup run last season.

Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz helped the Panthers win the Stanley Cup last season before signing with Toronto during the offseason and has been in goal for all three games against Florida this season.
